University Womens Federation College started its journey in 1965 as a women?s college inspired by Dr. Malika Al Razi and the Federation of University Women. After returning from abroad, Dr. Malika Al Razi worked with educated women of the then East Pakistan Federation of University Women to establish a college that would advance women?s education.
In July 1965, the college began at a rented house on Road 6, Dhanmondi. Among the early founders and supporters were Mrs. Taslima Abed, Dr. Malika Al Razi, Dil Afroz Huq, Mrs. Afifa Huq, Khorshedi Alam, Shahanara Alam, Dr. Fatema Sadek and other education-loving women.
The founders wanted to support women?s economic independence through education. The college became known as one of the first women?s commerce colleges, creating important opportunities for female students in business education.
